Information You Submit
A name, telephone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies those results. Our own servers are not intended to keep a copy of the query. A message sent to us is visible to the extent needed to read it and answer it.
Routine Technical Data
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser details, requested pages, and time stamps in ordinary server logs. Those signals are reviewed in aggregate for uptime and page performance. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may use cookies or similar tools where they are enabled.
How the Data Is Used
Technical data supports site operation, fault repair, traffic counts, and page improvement. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from this information.
External Portals and Links
Pages may point to county or state portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Information entered on those services is governed by their own policies. The sponsored result box is also supplied by a separate provider.
Possible Recipients
Hosting and technical vendors may process the server-log details described above. Analytics or advertising partners may receive similar automatic data. Disclosure is limited to a valid legal demand or the service relationships needed to operate the pages.
Security and Retention
Pages are served over an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described above. Because there are no user accounts, this service does not maintain a site password or account profile for a visitor.
Children and Teens
The reference is intended for adults rather than children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, a contact request can ask for its removal.
Your California Privacy Choices
California’s Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code §§1798.100 et seq., can provide rights to know, correct, delete, or opt out of sale or sharing for covered data; the California Attorney General’s guide explains the framework. The California Delete Act also provides the DROP process for registered data brokers. Since this service keeps little visitor data, a request through the Contact page can be checked against the mailbox and available logs. Government records held by Thousand Oaks, Ventura County, or another California custodian are outside our control; requests about those records must go to the office that holds them.
Policy Changes
Revisions will appear on this page with the updated wording. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the changed policy.
